take a look at yourself and realise, ive been good to you

Today was considerably better than yesterday. infact, the day i get sent to prison will be a better day than yesterday was. However, I managed to finish a book* [the girl with the dragon tattoo] which turned out to be really good. and really thats all i have to report.
Right now im dreaming of; the chocolate C brought me from her overseas adventures, hotchocolate, seeing my bestfriend and my princess bed. Ah and my late sleeping tomorrow morning. yes please.

sunday daydreaming

'Tis finished! The Messiah dies,
Cut off for sins, but not His own:
Accomplished is the sacrifice,
The great redeeming work is done.

'Tis finished! all the debt is paid;
Justice divine is satisfied;
The grand and full atonement made;
God for a guilty world hath died.

The veil is rent in Christ alone;
The living way to heaven is seen;
The middle wall is broken down,
And all mankind may enter in.

The types and figures are fulfilled;
Exacted is the legal pain;
The precious promises are sealed;
The spotless Lamb of God is slain.

The reign of sin and death is o'er,
And all may live from sin set free;
Satan hath lost his mortal power;
'Tis swallowed up in victory.

Saved from the legal curse I am,
My Saviour hangs on yonder tree:
See there the meek, expiring Lamb!
'Tis finished! He expires for me.

Accepted in the Well-beloved,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
I see the bar to heaven removed;
And all Thy merits, Lord, are mine.

Death, hell, and sin are now subdued;
All grace is now to sinners given;
And lo, I plead the atoning blood,
And in Thy right I claim Thy heaven!
- Charles Wesley

[the books are, The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy and The Queens foold by Phillipa Gregory]

"If the witch understood the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the Deep Magic differently, for when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, dies in a traitor’s stead, the stone table will crack and even death itself will turn backwards." - Aslan (The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe)

mondays child

Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving
Saturday’s child works hard for its living
And a child that is born on Sabbath day
Is bonny and wise and good at play
[i was born on a monday, which doesnt say a lot for the poem]

the breakfast club

John: Hey, how come Andrew gets to get up? If he gets up, we'll all get up, it'll be anarchy!

John Bender: Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?

John Bender: Brian, this is a very nutritious lunch. All the food groups are represented. Did your mom marry Mr. Rogers?
Brian Johnson: Uh, no. Mr. Johnson.

Andrew Clark: You don't have any goals.
John Bender: Oh but I do.
Andrew Clark: Yeah?
John Bender: I wanna be just like you. I figure all I need, is a lobotomy and some tights.
Brian Johnson: You wear tights?
Andrew Clark: No I don't wear tights. I wear the required uniform.
Brian Johnson: Tights.
Andrew Clark: Shut up.

Richard Vernon: What if your home... what if your family... what if your *dope* was on fire?
John Bender: Impossible, sir. It's in Johnson's underwear

John Bender: What's in there?
Claire Standish: Guess?
Where's your lunch?
John Bender: You're wearing it.
Claire Standish: You're nauseating.
[and thats why its the best movie in the world]

how do you feel about death?

My grandmother is dying. She has been for 6 years but she only has a few days left. In addition to the morbidness this news has brought upon our family it has brought too the reality of death. Everyone dies, we just live pretending we wont.

" You do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapour that appears for a little while and then vanishes away" James 4v14

Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too,
For his civility.

We passed the school, where children strove
At recess, in the ring;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.

Or rather, he passed us;
The dews grew quivering and chill,
For only gossamer my gown,
My tippet only tulle.

We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling of the ground;
The roof was scarcely visible,
The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries, and yet each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses' heads
Were toward eternity
.- Emily Dickinson

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life" Romans 6v23

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15v55

waka waka eh eh

Here are a few pictures from my ministry week in Paarl- the land of not-being-able-to-feel-your-toes-because-its-so-cold.

"Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."- Revelation 4v11

happiness* its was the best week :)

forgetting me, remember me

[ilovethispoem]

in time of daffodils(who know
the goal of living is to grow)
forgetting why,remember how

in time of lilacs who proclaim
the aim of waking is to dream,
remember so(forgetting seem)

in time of roses(who amaze
our now and here with paradise)
forgetting if,remember yes

in time of all sweet things beyond
whatever mind may comprehend,
remember seek(forgetting find)

and in a mystery to be
(when time from time shall set us free)
forgetting me,remember me

J, its because of you that im in this loved up mood at the moment :)
