the weekend bites

Twinkle, twinkle, little bat,
How I wonder what you're at
Up above the world so high
Like a tea tray in the sky... -the mad hatter

Trust me. I know a thing or two about liking people, and in time, after much chocolate and cream cake, 'like' turns into 'what was his name again?'- the mad hatter

You know, you could always visit my world. You might like it. -alice

Ah, that's just it. If you don't think, then you shouldn't talk. -the mad hatter

wise words from alice in wonderland*

i wish...

the universe next door

" The world is charged with the grandeur of God. It will flame out, like shining from shook foil; It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil crushed. Why do men then now not wreck his rod?" -Gerard Manley Hopkins

breakfastlunch

today i caught up with one of my old school friends* it was lovely and the place was lovely and the food was lovely and we drank lots of tea, so all in all...

We wrote a prelude
To our own
fairy tale
And bought a parachute
At a church rummage sale

And with a mean sewing machine
And
miles of thread
We sewed the day above L.A.
In navy and red

We wound a race track
Through your mom's kitchen chairs
And
fought the shadows back
Down your dark basement stairs

I lit a match, then let it catch
To light up the room
And then you yelled as we beheld
An old maroon hot air balloon

I'll be out of my mind
And you'll be out of ideas
Pretty soon
So let's spend
The afternoon in a cold hot air balloon
Leave your jacket behind
Lean out and touch the treetops over town
I can't wait
To kiss the ground
Wherever we touch back down

We drank the Great Lakes
Like
cold lemonade
And both got stomach aches
Sprawled out in the shade

So bored to death you held your breath
And I tried not to yawn
You made my frown turn upside down
And now my worries are gone

... it was a good day :)
time to study greek. agh.
p.s have a good sunday tomorrow

id better get my act together

and a deep thought:
"...when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong." - richard dawkins
how true richard, how true

Lisztomania

So sentimental
Not sentimental no!
Romantic not disgusting yet
Darling I'm down and lonely
When with the fortunate only
I've been looking for something else
Do let do let do let jugulate do let
do let do

Let's go slowly, discouraged,
Distant from other interests
On your favorite weekend ending
This love's for gentlemen only
That's with the fortunate only
No I gotta be someone else
These days it comes it comes it comes it comes
it comes and goes

Lisztomania
Think less but see it grow
Like a riot, like a riot, Oh!
I'm not easily offended
It's not hard to let it go
From a mess to the masses

Follow, misguide,
stand still
Disgust, discourage
On this precious weekend ending
This love's for gentlemen only
Wealthiest gentlemen only
And now that you're lonely
Do let do let do let jugulate do let do let do

Let's go slowly, discouraged,
We'll
burn the pictures instead
When it's all over we can barely discuss
For one minute only
Not with the fortunate only
Thought it could have been something else
These days it comes it comes it comes it comes
it comes and goes

Lisztomania
Think less but see it grow
Like a riot, like a riot, Oh!
I'm not easily offended
It's not hard to let it go
From a mess to the masses
