the happiest of days

Happiest of wednesdays!today is beautiful because he is home. yes folks, i can now function as a normal human being again. After a long and happy day yesterday we went to tour the new blueroute and my goodgrief there are some lovely dresses in forever new. [secretly iv'e always wanted to dye my hair pink or purple]

looking forward to another wonderful evening tonight and we have begun the upward climb to easter-a womans worst nightmare: do i partake in the chocolate eating which i want so badly to do or do i remain un-fat and unhappy because i have eaten no chocolate? these are the questions that plague us.

Christmas ramblings

Happy tuesday? wednesday? The best kind of holiday is one where you cannot remember the time or the date or what day of the week it is. I hope you're getting excited about christmas. I can't get excited because its all happening so fast, thus this is pretty much my life right now:

I just want 2012 to begin (a side-track from my moaning) today I did something huge. I cut my hair off-well not "I" by the hairdresser- yes my long beautiful princess hair that I have been gently nurturing for 3 years now. I'm not altogether sure why I did it...anyway, it is now a bob (a very nice looking one by the way) and I am like the princess in Tangled, who cut her hair but was still a princess afterwards.

My mother has taken it upon herself to decorate the house in such a way, that no matter what time of the day it is if you walk into our house it's pitch black with candles everywhere and silent night playing softly in the background.

Christmas always reminds me of Harry Potter [think about it, all you HP lovers, Harry Potter has awesome Christmases] In other news; I am going to Durban in 4 days! 4 days 'till I see G again [she worries about what he will think of her hair]
its time to get me and my new hair to bed, sleeptight

post-sunday-lunch wafflings

This week I found our first spring blossoms [on the jasmine tree] I cannot believe that winter is almost over [and uncharacteristically of me, I can't wait for summer]Today I wore flowers in my hair & listened to jax pannik while I got dressed- I've been listening to them all week, their music makes me feel fierce.

Tomorrow G&I have been going out for 6months, which, when I think about it makes me so happy [I feel like it's been a lot longer than that] & I couldn't have dreamed up a better young man.

its been an icy could week. [i have found a new favourite blog] http://hermionejg.tumblr.com/

[adorable]

My food has reached my brain, which is now demanding naptime. sleeptight all x

a whole bunch of catch-up

Hi. its monday. and I'm back. Back from Durban. Exciting times. the 3weeks there were filled with; Indian cuisine [too much curry], tears, new cultures, boredom, walking barefoot through the streets, incense, cheap clothes, sadness, being ridiculously sick, brickbreaker [to pass the time], long phone calls, hindu temples, saris, hospitality, corenza c & grippon, wishing the hours away, beautiful sunsets & nervousness.

[a wishlist]

Then came the next 10-meet-the-family-and-friends-days which can only be described as nerve-wracking. It was also surprisingly lovely, filled with new faces, millions of names, wooden passages & fat cats, tea in the mornings, amazing weather, new places, old faces, strange accents, antibiotics, arguments, the beach, laughter, annoyance, happiness[...]

[happy cupcake monday]

[...] warm welcomes, introductions, kisses, sleeping, good movies & average movies, finding important things, shopping, icecream with marshmallows in it (ah! yes! i know)puppies & kittens, peanutbutter and syrup toast, bee juice, The Durban July, winning, late night suppers, the best sunday, sunshine & my alice dress, music, markets on the beach, a pink dress, meeting terrifying people, toasted sandwiches, caramel coated icecream, important night time talks, whose line is it anyway?, the future, sushi (heckyes i had sushi),

new books, subway for lunch, you made me breakfast, ccu, important people, steers burgers& green juice, goodbyes, tears, back rubs, notes, avo on tost, surprise notes, iloveyous, and jelly babies.

it was an amazing 3weeks. and I cant wait to go back [come quickly october]

a winters tale

Friday morning - i love study days; you get to wake up late, mill around, make lovely breakfasts,go for a run, watch all the movies you have saved on pvr, read. Anything but study
[some pretty friday pictures]

In two weeks time its ministry week again-this year I'm going to Durban- I'm super excited about it. But the week following that, oh heck no [takes several deep breaths]

[is distracted by the weather] today is one of those winter days where, from inside, it looks like summer outside but the moment you go outside your face goes numb from the cold.

listening to: adele [a new obsession]
eating: my third orange this morning
painting: my nails dark red, sitting in the sunshine
feeling: happy [im seeing G later and really,
to see this much sunshine in winter in capetown would make anyone happy]

peace out x

light a way

cooler mornings, late sunrises, re-uniting with my winter clothes. iloveautumn.

I was up super early this morning to stand in the cold in my sleeping shorts and cheer for 2hours, for the people riding the capeargus today. yes i am a dedicated friend.
[flapjacks for breakfast]

[playing in my head right now]
The morning's here and we're still caught up in the night.
The sky was clear
And everything felt right
Our time is short but
I'm sure I'll see you soon.
We'll take another walk along the bridge and underneath the moon
.
thisweek a man joined my gym. he looks something between a hamster and a leprechaun. I have decided to call him fluffy. [you should see fluffy on the bike. insane i tell you.]

this was last sundays lunch/tea/indulgence. it looks harmless but really, i ate a third of it and then started dribbling chocolate. so i stopped.

[onemonth roses. you are lovely thankyou]

What a find, if I could I'd hit rewind
And replay all the moments
That I wished I could've called you mine.

saturday my 9yearold sister had her birthday party [party food. yesplease] and my mom made such amazing cupcakes. but then, the children destroyed them by licking all the icing off and leaving the cake. what the heck?
[a destroyed cupcake]

it was painful to watch. the moral of the story is teach your children to respect cupcakes and eat them properly. goodness.
have a happy sunday x

our hearts always hunger for

happy thursday people! one more day 'till the weekend :) and -how exciting is this- tomorrow the movie "the girl with the dragon tattoo" comes out. yay. For the past 2 days i have just had lectures on Islam. It has been the most amazing, thought-provoking experience. today was especially lovely because we had the yummiest lunch ever. and we sang this song- which is now my new favourite song

Wonderful, merciful Savior
Precious Redeemer and friend
Who would have thought that a lamb could
Rescue the souls of men
Oh, You rescue the souls of men

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts have
Hopelessly lost the way
Oh, we hopelessly lost the way

You are the one that we praise
You are the one we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for

Almighty, infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh, we're falling before Your throne

have a smashing rest-of-your-thursday*

the end of autumn

this weather calls for pizza,
