beautiful things

happy sunday. Another dreamy un-productive day. [I watched the latest pirates of the caribbean last night and my goodness that syrena mermaid is beautiful- here she is, minus the fish tail]

I have begun reading Forsters' A Passage to India and I found this beautiful quote [you should take the time to read and marvel in it]

"The sky too has its changes, but they are less marked than those of the vegitation and the river. Clouds map it up at times, but it is normally a dome of blending tints, and the main tint blue. By day the blue will pale down into white where it touches the white of the land, after sunset it has a new circumference-orange, melting upwards into tenderest purple. But that core of the blue persists, and so it is by night. Then the stars hang like lamps from the immense vault. The distance between the earth and them is as nothing to the distance behind them; and that further distance, though beyond colour, last freed itself from blue."

weekend stories

in the past2 days i have eaten almost an entire tub of sorbet.[and a few more cups. justbecause i can. although i could see my sorbet addiction becoming harmful. potentially] yesterday we went to the organic market in the forest. it was beautiful and hot and lovely. farmstyle breakfastroll and sorbet eating followed.

1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.

sunday dreaming

I've forgotten what spring is like. So when our jasmine started blooming it was hard to control my excitement. We didnt have a winter this year, just as I had packed away my dresses and sandals its time to take them out again. goodness.As luck would have it, today is sunday, the best day of the week [I can do nothing and not feel bad about doing nothing]
I hope you have a lazy sunday.

dear sundays: i love you

I have dreams of orca whales and owls

No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood
And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again

He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed

Regina Spektor lyrics* J got me interested, and now I am :)

sunday daydreaming

'Tis finished! The Messiah dies,
Cut off for sins, but not His own:
Accomplished is the sacrifice,
The great redeeming work is done.

'Tis finished! all the debt is paid;
Justice divine is satisfied;
The grand and full atonement made;
God for a guilty world hath died.

The veil is rent in Christ alone;
The living way to heaven is seen;
The middle wall is broken down,
And all mankind may enter in.

The types and figures are fulfilled;
Exacted is the legal pain;
The precious promises are sealed;
The spotless Lamb of God is slain.

The reign of sin and death is o'er,
And all may live from sin set free;
Satan hath lost his mortal power;
'Tis swallowed up in victory.

Saved from the legal curse I am,
My Saviour hangs on yonder tree:
See there the meek, expiring Lamb!
'Tis finished! He expires for me.

Accepted in the Well-beloved,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
I see the bar to heaven removed;
And all Thy merits, Lord, are mine.

Death, hell, and sin are now subdued;
All grace is now to sinners given;
And lo, I plead the atoning blood,
And in Thy right I claim Thy heaven!
- Charles Wesley

memories of Bavaria

today i:
1. woke up very early
2. went to church
3. went to the waterfront
4. met 2 scandanavian men and had the full awesomeness of their
height unleashed upon her 1.53m-ness
5. had a german hot dog, which
incidentally reminded me of Germany
6. was happy in the sunshine
[today this superamazing German team is going to eat England in soccer -
this said in the nicest possible way, gosh i am english, but Germany will beat them]

i have, of late, developed a huge crush on this shoe collection

and this outfit. I wasnt really too excited about them in the beginning but as i come back and stare at these pictures everyday... well now i sound sad dont i?
