post-christmas nostalgia

in the midst of the christmas craziness here are some of the things i liked this week:
[putting off posting about christmas because when i post about it, its really over]

"Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason." -Easy A.

can you feel it?

starbucks is comming to south africa for the world cup... im not too sure how i feel about this, yes i do live for the days when i go over seas that i can drink a cup of refined sugar that tastes like heaven, but thats what i look forward to when i leave south africa, what will i have to look forward to now?

this is the outfit that i wish i had worn today*

and this is what i read today :)
"...and we may be pretty certain that persons whom all the world treats ill, deserve entirely the treatment they get. The world is a looking glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it, and it will turn look sourly upon you; laugh at it and with it, and it is a jolly kind companion; and so let all young persons take their choice."
— William Makepeace Thackeray (Vanity Fair)
i love how he writes.
